Pawan Randev
I am a recently retired GP Partner, Trainer and Educator for 25 years. I have developed a passion for Cancer education and training over the last 25 years, working at local regional and national level to support primary care colleagues in their training around cancer. Working with Ben has been a delight , sharing a common purpose and ambition to help us, as clinicians, to do the best for our patients and families by detecting and referring at the time that can make the greatest difference.
I do have qualifications (FRCGP, MRCP UK, DCH, DRCoG, MBChB) but I have learned most from my patients over the years. They are better teachers than we could ever imagine if we hear their narratives and concerns. For a condition that will affect one in two of us over 50, cancer remains a driving force for me. We want to share our passion with you and help you achieve earlier diagnoses of cancer by understanding and acting on our shared learning.
Ben Noble
I am a GP Partner with over 13 years’ experience working as a cancer lead, specialising in early diagnosis and symptom awareness in primary care.
My work has focused on translating research evidence into practical approaches that improve clinical decision-making and support earlier cancer detection. My academic background, including a PhD in physiology, has helped shape a detailed and analytical approach to this work.
Through roles with Cancer Research UK and the East Midlands Cancer Alliance, I have developed experience in delivering programmes at scale and supporting system-wide improvements in early diagnosis.
My work & friendship with Pawan has strengthened my approach to education, with a focus on delivering clear, practical teaching that is relevant across the whole primary care workforce. The development of the Cancer Maps decision support tool has been one of the highlights of this work.
